Second Grade Scoop October 22-26

It's hard to believe we're nearing the end of October, which also brings us to the end of the first quarter! Our Portfolio Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, November 8th and Tuesday, November 13th. Look for more information to come home soon! Tuesday, October 23 Grandparents’ Night (6:00 - 7:00pm) Wednesday, October 24 Field trip to Kindred Hearts Senior Living Thursday, October 25 No School Friday, October 26 No School Wednesday, October 31st-Wear Orange and Black Red Ribbon Week National Red Ribbon Week is dedicated to making our schools a bully free and drug free place! Classes will be talking more about red ribbon week in guidance lessons during the month of October with Miss Duda! Red Ribbon Week October 22nd - 24th. Dress up days are: Monday, October 22nd “Teaming Up Against Drugs is NO SWEAT!” Wear your favorite Sweats and/or Team Apparel! Tuesday, October 23rd “SOCK it to drugs...say NO!” Wear Crazy SOCKS! Wednesday, October 24th

Second Grade Scoop October 15-19

We’ve had the privilege to have some guest presenters at our school over the past weeks. The Kaukauna Fire Dept. came in to talk with students about knowing safety plans at school and at home. In addition, Larry the Science Guy came in to show us some amazing and fun things that can be done applying science principles. On Friday, Ryan Flessner, our math staff developer from Butler University, taught our class a math lesson. He was impressed with our problem solving strategies! Second Grade Scoop October 8-12

Wow! I'm amazed at all we've accomplished in just one short month! Now that we have our routines in place and students have built stamina in all areas, I'm excited to see what the rest of October will bring!
