Second Grade Scoop

We have a short week this week, which should be followed by our first full week in awhile! T hursday February 21-22nd-No School for students Thursday, February 21st-Funset Boulevard Night from 4:00-10:00 PM Tuesday, February 26th-Family Night from 6:00-7:00pm. This is Art Night. There will be an  Art Auction of canvases made by the students, art activities, and a bake sale. Your child received a Six Flags Six Hour Reading Program form last week. If your child reads six hours at home between now and February 26th he/she will earn a free ticket to Six Flags to be used this summer. Please let me know if you have any questions.  Reading -We will be finishing up our 3rd reading unit focused on characters and the lessons they learn this week. We will begin our 4th unit at the end of the week in which we will work on fluency, literary language, and meeting the challenges of longer books. There are lots of things going on this coming week and this month! Here is a run down of some of the special and fun things happening: *Monday, February 11th: Stop by Culvers between 5:00-8:00pm. A portion of sales goes  back to  NDLC!! *February 11th is also the 100th day of school. Students can dress like they are 100 years  old!   *Thursday, February 14th: Our 2nd grade classes will be having a Valentines Friendship  Celebration. Refer to note previously sent home on February 1st. * Thursday February 21-22nd-No School for students *Funset Blvd Night is coming up on Thursday, February 21st starting at 4:00pm. Tickets are $5.  RSVP by Friday, February 15th . *Family Night is February 26th from 6:00-7:00pm. This is Art Night.
