December 26th

December 19-23

While the weather and windchill is still above zero, we are encouraging students to get outside on the weekends and be active. Or if you are inside, play board games or do arts and crafts projects. Reminder: Bring a Wisconsin photo for Mr. Skurr's class on Tuesday. After you had a chance to review the Unit 2 math test, please make sure to return. Second Grade Scoop December 10-17

Hello, We are gearing up for another busy week in 2nd grade. We will be meeting with our buddy classes tomorrow from 2-3 and will have some special visitors to our school. Ask your child about this exciting event when he/she gets home tomorrow! Second Grade Scoop December 2-6

Hello, It's hard to believe it's December already! As the weather turns colder and the snow continues to fly, please make sure your child has the appropriate clothing for recess. Upcoming events: Tuesday, December 11 - No School Thursday, December 13 - Family Night (PJ’s and Publishing)-Students may wear pjs to school. Curriculum Updates: Reading-Second graders continue to read nonfiction. We've worked on solving tricky words and learning the specific topic in our nonfiction books. This week we've begun to work on reading across a topic by reading several books on the same topic to grow our learning even more. Writing-We continue to work on writing nonfiction books. We had a mini celebration on Monday with second graders in both classrooms. This week we are working on writing with a specific audience in mind and adding descriptions to teach that reader.  Math – Unit 3 begins this week. This unit focuses on length and shapes.
