Hello, I am looking forward to our portfolio conferences this week. Students are looking forward to sharing how much they have grown so far this year in second grade! Knowledge-A-Thon information came home last week. Please practice these questions with your child over the next couple of weeks. The Knowledge-A-Thon will be held Friday, April 5th. This is a huge fundraiser for our school. We appreciate your support!! Upcoming Events: Friday, March 22nd-No School for Students Curriculum Updates: Writing -We are finishing up our poetry unit this week. Students will be publishing their own anthologies. Reading - Book clubs will be setting goals to help deepen conversations and understanding of their books this week. Math- We finished our unit on 2-digit subtraction last week. Second Grade Scoop October 22-26

It's hard to believe we're nearing the end of October, which also brings us to the end of the first quarter! Our Portfolio Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, November 8th and Tuesday, November 13th. Look for more information to come home soon! Second Grade Scoop October 8-12

Wow! I'm amazed at all we've accomplished in just one short month! Now that we have our routines in place and students have built stamina in all areas, I'm excited to see what the rest of October will bring!
