Hello,
I am looking forward to our portfolio conferences this week. Students are looking forward to sharing how much they have grown so far this year in second grade!

Knowledge-A-Thon information came home last week. Please practice these questions with your child over the next couple of weeks. The Knowledge-A-Thon will be held Friday, April 5th. This is a huge fundraiser for our school. We appreciate your support!!

Curriculum Updates:
Writing-We are finishing up our poetry unit this week. Students will be publishing their own anthologies.

Reading-Book clubs will be setting goals to help deepen conversations and understanding of their books this week.

Math-We finished our unit on 2-digit subtraction last week. Our new unit focuses on telling time, graphs, and word problems. By the end of the unit, students are expected to tell time to the nearest five minutes on an analog clock. Please practice this skill as often as possible at home.

Word Study-This week we will be working on the sounds of er, ir, ur. Look for homework practice to come home tomorrow.

Content-Mr. Skurr's class observed their Grassheads and were able to add some style to them! We wrapped up our Plant Adventures unit and students will be moving on to Kaukauna History.

Ms. Zobel's class class looked at how a law comes about and finished by writing about a local government job they might like to have.This week we will begin a unit focused on animal biodiversity.
