The week starts our final units of study in Reading and Writing - how time flies! With our new Writing unit, we will be conducting experiments and writing up results. On Wednesday this week, students should bring in one of the following candies of choice so they can conduct a follow up experiment: M&Ms, Starbursts, marshmallows, Kit Kat, Reeses Pieces Cups, or Life Savers.


Upcoming Events:
April 30th and May 2nd - Running Club will have its last 2 practices this week. If you/your child are interested in doing the Kaukauna Strong Challenge on May 5th, here is the link to sign up:
May 9th - 2nd Grade Concert (6:30pm)
May 29th - Kaukauna History & Government Field Trip (information coming home this week)


Curriculum Updates:


Reading: This week students will be starting a new unit focusing on reading Nonfiction text. Students will have an opportunity to read various books on the same topic and then be able to report to a club about their learnings.

Writing: A new writing unit begins this week that focuses on writing lab reports. The unit will involve conducting experiments during Content and then following the scientific process to create a report.

Math: This week’s Math work will involve looking at strategies to add 3 digit numbers together.

Fundations: The next unit focuses on the long ‘o’ sound made using oa (boat), oe (toe), and ow (snow).

Content: Science experiments will be conducted to go with the Writing unit.
